CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE, a.s. is the successor to the tradition of quality glass production at the Josefodol glassworks, which was founded in 1861 by the Viennese merchant Josef Schreiber in the charming valley of the Sázava River near the town of Světlá nad Sázavou in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

During the totalitarian regime, the glassworks was nationalized in favor of the state enterprise Bohemia and, following privatization in 1994, it was renamed CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE, a.s. after the last private owners of the glassworks, the Emperor Brothers (Caesar), to whose legacy the current owners claim to be. The Josefofolodská glassworks produces hand-blown and cut 24% lead crystal. Combining old proven traditions with purely modern decors by renowned artists, both our own (especially Zdeněk Kunst and Stanislav Machek) and external artists (e.g. Švarc, Exnar, Janák), ​​creates exceptionally noble crystal beauty, typical of the place of its creation.

Accepted glass - a clear crystal base of the product, which is covered with a thin layer of colored crystal during hot production. During refinement - grinding - this colored layer is ground with diamond wheels, creating a unique effect of ground decor in the contrast of color, crystal and light.
